It feels great to repurpose used objects!
On April 1st I planted a few different seeds in some milk cartons I was saving for such a purpose (I'm sure Hubby was wondering why I was stockpiling trash). These plants include Tigerella Tomato (a free gift from Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds just for being a customer), Peppermint, Nasturtium, Chives and a lettuce mix. I planted the Nasturtium in a container because the ten or so seeds I planted in the garden didn't seem to be doing anything. Now, all of a sudden I see them growing in my garden as well as the milk carton! It is the most abundant plant of all so far. Hopefully the edible plants will catch up soon (come on tomatoes!).
Life is happening:
Even the milk that used to fill these containers was organic, ha! Hmm, I wonder if I can plant the cartons directly into the ground. Would they disintegrate in time and be healthy for the soil?

Your carton projects remind me so much of elementary school. I don't remember exactly what we had to do but at the end of the school year I remember bringing it home and planting it.
Our dog pissed on it and it died.
